Principal PM Manager

Our team sits at the heart of Microsoft’s AI & High Performance Computing business – shaping and delivering the next generation of supercomputing. As a Technical Program Manager, CISO, you will help develop, operate, and maintain security services supporting the evolving needs of one of our largest and most significant customers.



As a Technical Program Manager, CISO, you lead a managed security service for Microsoft working on a long-term cloud integration program. The CISO is accountable for a managed cyber security service (including a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC)) and will make sure this meets customer contractual requirements and is industry top quartile in quality, targeting “goal” zero for all cybersecurity incidents. The CISO shall manage the overall cyber security posture and will both leverage and promote Microsoft expertise and technical capability for this service.



This role will allow you to develop your program management and technical skills. Responsibilities

  • You will lead and steer a managed security service in a hybrid cloud environment whilst conforming to industry standards, best practices and able to provide a “goal zero” approach to security incidents safeguarding across all contracted assets.
  • You will interface with a large, complex program, to drive security best practices in conformance with no less than NIST, ISO27001, SOC2 frameworks including security analysts, engineers, and other IT professionals to support holistic Information Security management – both for day-to-day operations and for strategic improvements. Support the transition of those security services & best practices from the program phase to the run phase.
  • You will lead the strategic vision and direction for the SOC, including the continual evolution of the SIEM, SOAR, XDR, threat intelligence and vulnerability management capabilities. This work will include automation and continuous improvement cycle.
  • You will collaborate with all stakeholders, including the customer and on occasion at executive level, to integrate and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures to protect against emerging threats whilst driving customer satisfaction in a managed security service.
  • You will promote a culture of security awareness and education across the program.
  • You will assist in any major incident response effort to drive the best possible outcome in addressing any security incidents, breaches, and unauthorized access as required in the case that goal zero is not achieved.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND extensive experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • People management experience.
  • Experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (such as CISSP).
  • Experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Extensive experience in management, specifically of information security or IT roles and experience in leading or managing a SOC or similar function.
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations center concepts, processes, technologies, tools (technical skills and hands-on experience with various security solutions such as SIEMs (e.g., IBM QRadar), SOARs (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel), XDRs (e.g., CrowdStrike Falcon), threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future), vulnerability scanners (e.g., Qualys)), frameworks, standards, and regulations.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
